Letters to Nursery Parents

September 2007

SCHOOL NOTICE

Dear Parent/Guardian

The school has successfully launched a Parent Group with the first meeting taking place at 1 p.m. on Thursday 27 September in the Infant Department of the school. The group has decided that they would like to look at the following areas:-

First Aid Cookery
Home Safety Healthy Eating
Computers/ICT Making Games
Baby/Child Massage

As a school we are trying to recruit more parents to join the group. This is a very informal arrangement where you can drop in every Thursday afternoon at 1 p.m. have a cup of tea/coffee and a chat and join in with the activities.

Nursery Parents are welcome to join this Parent Group.

You are also invited to a School Open Day on Tuesday 9 October where you will see the school in action (Infant and Junior Departments)

Times - A.M. 9.45-11.15
P.M. 1.15-2.50

Parents and children are invited to meet with myself in the Infant school hall where I will speak about the school and then they will be taken on a tour of the departments. Refreshments will be available for children and adults. If you are unable to attend please feel free to telephone the school for an alternative appointment.

We look forward to seeing you and your children at our Open Day and hope we can help you decide upon the next stage of your child’s education.

I am asking all parents to try to promote a service that we provide in the Infant Department. Giggles is a Playgroup Plus facility for 3 and 4 year olds. The facilities are excellent, the staff are very experienced and the morning sessions run from
9-11.30 a.m. or 9-12.30 a.m. and cost £6 or £8. If you know any families who have children of this age could you please publicise the provision.

Yours sincerely

Choosing a school for your child can be quite a difficult choice to make. It is important that you gather as much information as possible to allow you to make an informed decision that is the best one for your child and your family.

We are sending out our School Prospectus to all children who are eligible for full time education in September 2008. Our prospectus sets out our school values and aims and contains a whole host of relevant information for you and your child.

You are invited to an Open Evening on Thursday 27 September at 6.00 p.m. in the hall of St Giles School Infant Department. During the evening you will be able to meet the Headteacher and staff of the school and hear about the school philosophy. You are welcome to see the classrooms and in so doing learn about the excellent facilities that we offer in the school.

Subsequently you are also invited to a School Open Day on Tuesday 9 October where you will see the school in action (Infant and Junior Departments)
